Life of a solo musician.

I have played music around the DFW area for 10 years. It amazes me how difficult it is to get a replies back from venues, even after you have played there a few times and they really like your music. Don't get me wrong, I know there is more than a few solo musicians looking for a gig in the area....but sometimes it can be 6 months. My policy is, I will continue to email you until one of two things...either you book me or you tell me my services are no longer needed. I would like to start a coalition of solo singer songwriters. I feel there is no true representation for us. Most booking agents are interested in bands. That is where the money is for them and I can't blame them. But, there has to be a spot for us solo people. If any of you know a someone that actually has the best interest of solo performers in mind when booking, please let me know. I am not upset with booking agents or venues. I can only imagine the number of bands and musicians you are inundated with on a daily or weekly basis. But, I want to play and if I am told I am good and my music is good then I believe I am good.
